Whisper your love a lullaby
One, two, three, four, five
Hush-a-bye, don’t you cry
The itsy bitsy spider
Has ample venom in his bite
The cat and the fiddle
Sing a sad little riddle
Little boy blue screams from afar
breathe in the smell
Of death drifting from the Dell
The wolf is full
The huntsman is dead
The crocodile tears fall, blood red
As one by one nightingales fall
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten
Close your eyes
And just pretend this world is
make believe and then
Three blind mice don’t run far nor fast
When the end of the universe is rolling past
So hush-a-bye please don’t cry
Make a wish and kiss good-bye
Authors blurb: fairytales should never have been so white washed. They were dark and they had lessons to teach. They were meant to inspire and instill fear.
